Robyn Perkins (Comedian)
Saturday Aug 26, 2017
Saturday Aug 26, 2017
Stand-Up Comic Robyn Perkins has performed all over the UK, and US since 2011. Drawing on her past life experiences (as a biologist, American, and failed dater), she is a chatty comic who's material is frequently described as witty and sharp...and refreshingly honest.
Her newest show (Robyn's Bad Decision Time) looks at her life, and how and why she makes the decisions she does. It covers "a myriad of reasons for her bad decisions, including standard themes about her family, lovers and self-acceptance, but also global politics and neuroscience." (The Brighton Source).

Jay Islaam (Comedian & Broadcaster)
Saturday Aug 26, 2017
Saturday Aug 26, 2017
Multi-award-winning comedian, broadcaster and journalist. Jay Islaam has written for the likes of The Guardian, Huffington Post and Birmingham Mail about UK arts and culture, and presents a weekly radio show on the subject too. He's one of the most provocative new acts on the British comedy scene, and has carved a niche for himself as a popular podcaster with his "Comedy Cannon" show, which has attracted some very big-name guests and attracted almost 300,000 downloads in the last 18 months. Thanks to his background in broadcasting and marketing he's brutally realistic about the entertainment industry, and what it takes to achieve commercial success as an artist.

Tom Young (Comedian & Improviser)
Saturday Aug 26, 2017
Saturday Aug 26, 2017
Stand up, improviser, writer, & director. Tom Young is probably the least successful "pretty decent" act you'll have ever heard of.
He's never made it through the first round of any stand up competition, he's never had a review with a star rating, and he's never even got passed two minutes in a gong show.
Despite that, he's done seven fairly successful solo shows, is the director of one of the the midlands' leading improvised comedy groups - The Same Faces - and recently had a crack at directing Hamlet.
Long story short: he's funny, and likes to keep busy.

Alasdair Beckett-King (Comedian)
Saturday Aug 26, 2017
Saturday Aug 26, 2017
Alasdair is a legendary comedian, in that there is little historical evidence that he exists. But he does exist.
Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2017, Alasdair has featured on BBC radio as a comedian and sketch writer, and performed stand-up across the UK, at Glastonbury, Citadel Fest, the Udderbelly Southbank and at the Edinburgh Fringe. He knows quite a lot about 19th century magicians. Tourists often ask to have their photo taken with him, presumably impressed by this.

He has since performed to humans, empty seats, and a cat that lives in a pub in Chiswick. He has won The Comedy Store's notorious King Gong, reached the semi-finals of three national stand-up competitions, and co-hosts the Paul Foot podcast.
